General Index with Projected Turnover is a small free software to have a quick look at current market status in trade hour of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE).This wonderful software was created by Nasimul Haque Choudhury Bhai, a pioneer programer of Bangladesh who introduced technology among Bangladeshi traders.This tiny tool will show current Index value, number of advanced and declined issues, number of trade, current turnover etc, during market hour.Important part of this tool is projected turnover, it gives an idea of how much the total turnover can stand at the end of the day.You can keep it open on your desktop using it’s built-in “Always on top” option.It has a slider also to control the opacity.Recently, Nasim bhai updated this tool from version 1.3 to 1.4 with some changes that gives users more flexibility like setting the start and end time of DSE trading.
General Index with Projected Turnover v1.4 has custom time setting feature. Users can set start and end time of trading session. While starting for the first time after download, you will see that both “Start Time” and “End Time” box are empty. Then you must have to add time in the “Start Time” and ”End Time” box, before running the software. For example, if Dhaka Stock Exchange trade begins at 10.30 a.m. then, you will have to write “10:30:00″ in the “Start Time” box and if DSE trade ends at 2.30 p.m. then, you will have to add or write “14:30:00″ in the “End Time” box.Please see screenshot below to get better idea.

How to Use :
Open the software and press the “Start” button and that’s it.The built-in DSEGEN graph and all other data will be updated periodically as long as the market remains open or you don’t click the “Stop” button.

Disadvantage:
- General Index with Projected Turnover v1.3 has one limitation.This tool was created to work for four hour market session(10.30 a.m. to 2.30 p.m.) which is usual market hour of DSE.If for some reason like ramadan, DSE authority decrease the time period of trade hour by one hour then, this tool can’t calculate the projected turnover accurately.
